We are always looking for good places to site bees in the city and on farms with flowering crops. We are particularly interested in sites near mature flowering trees – limes, chestnuts, oaks, hawthorn, top fruit and berry production. On arable farms crops such as rapeseed, clover, phacelia, borage, beans, buckwheat, pumpkins, and sunflowers.

Honey bees work to pollinate a large variety of crops and wild flowers who’s presence is generally understood to amplify the quality and quantity of harvests.

Site requirements:

  • Vehicle access
  • sun exposure
  • Not on, or directly next to rights of way or farm traffic
  • shelter from wind
  • Water source nearby
  • Potential storage space
  • Secure & restricted access

Generally we operate within Edinburgh and the Lothians but for the right opportunity we would consider travelling further afield
